ROWLF: I got my first job at a bar in Kansas City, and they needed someone to play piano after the old piano player quit. So they took me out from behind the counter, put me in front of the keys, and said "play something". Turns out, I stunk. But I resolved to learn, and in a few years I was one of the most respected pianists in Kansas City... at least among those who frequented bars. That's how I met Jim Henson; he stopped in my bar for a quick drink and ended up hiring me for that dog food commercial. It was all uphill from there. KERMIT: It's certainly a lot edgier than most of our other work, but it's also very close to how Henson wanted us to be. I like to think I'm nicer than that, though.

(My mom won't let me watch it... I saw the first episode, and it wasn't all that bad, but she hated it!)
