I'm planning on taking some Railway Series stories and rewriting them to make them about us. Any requests?

Um... what? I'm not sure what you have in mind... something like these?

"Never trust avatarless forumers. They aren't respectable."

"Once, a poster attached to a thread,
Stayed up to late and posted in bed.
Fell asleep really fast,
But it didn't last,
because by morning he was all dead."

"One night, Toz came to the thread. He was a kind little admin, and felt sorry for D11."

"Forums are no good. Tear 'em up, turn 'em into blogs."

"I'm sorry we can't help, but we are special high-speed spambots."

"Game threads are vulgar things. You wouldn't catch me posting on one!"

"Moderators don't post."

"Soon, they came to the top of Frankthetriviaman's thread."

"I'm Lena. They're going to ban me next week."

"It's a letter from the Fat Admin! And I think it's good news!"

"'I see', said Frankthetriviaman.
Toz squirmed, and hoped he didn't.
'I'm sorry D11, but I'm afraid you'll have to go to Lena's thread for a while. I'm sure she'll be delighted to see you.'"

"Post, post ye go. Ye sound like ye'd been an egg layin'."

Inspired yet? Razz I'm interested in seeing how you do this.

Frank’s Day Out

Once upon a time there was a little user called Frank. He lived in a forum with five other members. They were all faster posters than Frank and boasted about it. “The moderators won’t choose you again,” they said. “They want’s fast posters like us.” Frank had not been typing for a long time; he began to feel sad.
Just then the Admin and Mods came to open up the forum.
The Admin looked at Frank. “Why are you sad?” he asked. “Would you like to be the first to post today?”
“Yes, please,” said Frank. So the Admin opened the forum and Frank went in.
“Woohoo,” he said. “Look at me now.”
The others were very cross at being left behind.

Away went Frank to start posting.
“Be careful, Frank,” said the threads, “don’t spam and overrun us like the other users do.” So Frank posted in the threads very, very nicely.
“Thank you, Frank,” said the threads. “That was kind, we are glad you are posting in us today.”

Then he went to a board where the threads were waiting.
“Hello,” said Frank – “open up, please.”
He waited and waited – the board was locked; he couldn’t post in here. “Hullo, hullo, hullo, hullo – where is that Admin?” Frank was getting anxious.
The Mods asked each other, “Have you seen the Admin?” “No,” they said.
Frank began to get cross. “Are we ever going to post?” he said.
Just then a mod shouted, “Here he comes!” and there the Admin was, typing his password in as fast as he could.
He opened the board, and the users could go in.

Frank entered. He did have a happy day. All the members came out to say hello as he came in and he met old friends at all the boards. He posted so much that the Admin promised to let him in first again next day.
“I’m going in first again tomorrow,” he told the other users that night. “What do you think of that?”

But he didn’t hear what they thought, for he was so tired and happy that he fell asleep at once.

Frank and Lena

One of the members in the forum was called Lena. She was very fast and very proud.
“You watch me this afternoon, little Frank,” she boasted, “as I rush through with the typing; that will be a splendid sight for you.”
Just then the Admin opened the forum. “Goodbye, little Frank,” said Lena, as she puffed away, “look out for me this afternoon!”

Frank went off, too, to do some arranging.
Frank liked arranging. It was fun playing with posts. He would come up quietly and give them a bump.
“Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!” screamed the posts. “Whatever is happening?”
Then he would stop and the silly posts would stop. “Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!” they cried again.
Frank bumped them until they were arranged nicely, and when they weren’t expecting it he would stop; one of them would be sure to run on to another board. Frank played till there were no more posts; then he stopped to rest.

Presently he heard a noise. Lean came posting along, very slowly, and very crossly. Instead of nice fast posts, she was deleting spam.
“A spam deletion! A spam deletion! A spam deletion!” she grumbled. “The shame of it, the shame of it, the shame of it.”
She went slowly through, with the spam clattering and banging behind her.
Frank laughed, and went to find some more posts.

Soon afterwards a mod came and spoke to him. “Lena can’t delete some posts. Will you go and help her, please?”
They found Lena in the Randomness board and very cross. The mods were talking to her severely. “You are not trying!” they told her.
“I can’t do it,” said Lena. “The ugly spam blocks a user so. If they were regular posts now – clean sensible things that come quietly – that would be different.”

Frank came up. “I’ve come to help,” he said. “No use at all,” said Lena. “You wait and see,” said Frank.
They started the deletion from scratch. Frank went to one board and Lena to another.
“Yes, yes, I’m ready,” said Frank.
“Yup, yup, no good,” grumbled Lena.

They deleted and moved as hard as they could.
“I can’t do it, I can’t do it, I can’t do it,” said Lena.
“I will do it, I will do it, I will do it,” said Frank.
“I can’t do it, I will do it, I can’t do it, I will do it, I can’t do it, I will do it,” they said together.
Frank deleted and moved and moved and deleted, as hard as he ever could, and almost before she realized it, Lena found that they were finished.
“I’ve done it! I’ve done it! I’ve done it!” she said proudly, and forgot all about Frank helping too. She didn’t wait to say “Thank you”, but posted on so fast that she flooded two boards before the mods could make her stop.

Frank had deleted so hard that when he finished his fingers hurt.
Lena posted on so fast that Frank was left behind.

He went on to the next board, and there the Admins and Mods said they were very pleased with him. The Mods gave him a nice long break, and the Admin said, “I’ll get out my customization things tomorrow, and give you a beautiful new avatar with a red question mark, then you’ll be the smartest member in the forum.”

The Sad Story of Diesel 11

Once, a member posting in a board
Was afraid of a few posts of spam –
– He went into a thread,
And squeaked through his mouse
And never came out again.

The user’s name was Diesel 11. The Moderators argued with him, but he would not move. “The spam will spoil my lovely posts,” he said.
The Mods argued till they had no more breath, and argued some more until their hands ached; but D11 still stayed in the thread, and threw posts at them.
“I am not going to spoil my lovely posts for you,” he said rudely.
The members came out and argued too, but Diesel would not move.

A Fat Admin who was on the train told the Mods to get a GIF. “We will scare you out,” he said. But Diesel only threw posts at him and made him mad.
They sent him the GIF and all helped – except the Fat Admin. “My keyboard has forbidden me to help,” he said.
They sent and sent and sent, and though that Exorcist scare GIF was terrifying, Diesel 11 still stayed in the thread.

Then they tried moving the thread. The Fat Admin said, “One, two, three, now”: but did not help. “My keyboard has forbidden me to help,” he said.
They moved and moved and moved; but still Diesel stayed in the thread.

At last another user came. The Mods stopped him. The users went and argued with Diesel. “Look, it has stopped spamming,” they said. “Yes, but it will begin again soon,” said D11. “And what would become of my posts then?”
So they brought the other user up, and it tried and tried, and tried and tried as hard as it ever could. But still Diesel stayed in the thread.

So they gave it up. They told Diesel, “We shall leave you there for always and always and always.”
They locked the thread, revoked his posting privileges, and made a new thread.

Now Diesel 11 can’t get out, and he watches the users posting happily in the thread. He is very sad because no one will ever see his lovely posts again.

But I think he deserved it, don’t you?

Frank, Lena and Diesel 11

Frank and Lena often went past the thread where Diesel 11 was shut up.
Frank would say, “Hi, hi – hullo!” and Lena would say, “Hi, hi, hi! Serves you right!”
Poor Diesel had no ability to answer, his posting privileges had been revoked; being locked in a thread had spoilt his lovely posts’ reputation. He was sad and unhappy, and wanted to come out and post too.

Lena always posted fast. She was proud of being the only user able to do it.
There were many threads, full of important users like the Fat Admin who had punished Diesel.
Lena was seeing how fast she could go. “Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!” she panted.
“Trickety-trock, trickety-trock, trickety-trock,” said the threads.

Lena could see Diesel’s thread in front.
“In a minute,” she thought, “I’ll hello, hello, hello at Diesel, and rush through and out into the board again.”
Closer and closer she came – she was almost there when OH SNAP!:
“Yi ⎯⎯⎯ iiii,” she was staring at a blank screen.

She stopped.
“What has happened to me?” asked Lena, “It looks so weird.” “Your computer crashed,” said her Parents. “You can’t post anymore.” “Oh, dear,” said Lena. “I was going so nicely, too…I bet Diesel’s laughing at me.” Lena made a face at her computer, and threw a brick at it.

Everybody stopped, and came to see Lena. “Humph!” said the Fat Admin. “I never liked these fast posters – always going wrong; send for another member at once.”
While the Mods went to find one, they stopped Lena, and put her on a thread out of the way.

The only user left was Frank.
“I’ll come and try,” he said.
A Mod saw him coming. “That’s no use,” he said, “Frank can’t rearrange this thread.”
Frank tried and tried, but he couldn’t arrange the thread.
“I told you so,” said the Mod rudely. “Why not let Diesel 11 try?”
“Yes,” said the Fat Admin, “I will.”

“Will you help arrange this thread, Diesel?” he asked. “Yes,” said Diesel 11 at once.
So his posting privileges were returned; some Mods unlocked the thread; and when he was ready Diesel 11 came out.
“Ooh! My fingers are so stiff!! Ooh! My fingers are so stiff!” he groaned.
“You’d better post in the Bomb This Thread With Posts thread to ease your fingers,” said the Fat Admin kindly.

Diesel 11 came back feeling better, and they put him in charge.
“Yup, yup,” said Frank, “I’m ready.”
“Yes, yes, yes,” said Diesel, “so am I.”
“Do it well; do it well; do it well,” said Frank.
“We’ll do it; we’ll do it; we’ll do it,” said Diesel.
“Do it well we’ll do it. Do it well we’ll do it. Do it well we’ll do it,” they said together. The heavy threads jerked and began to move, slowly at first, then faster and faster.
“We’ve done it together! We’ve done it together! We’ve done it together!” said Frank and Diesel.
“You’ve done it, hurray! You’ve done it, hurray! You’ve done it, hurray!” sang the threads.

All the users were excited. The Fat Admin leaned forward to send a ‘Thank You’ message to Frank and Diesel; but he wasn’t being careful and his hat fell off and his pet alligator ate it for tea.
They never stopped till they came to the big board at the end of the site.
The users all said, “Thank you,” and the Fat Admin promised Diesel 11 a new avatar.
“Would you like a big clawed diesel with your name on it?”
“Yes, please,” said D11, “then I’ll be unique.”

Frank and Diesel went home quietly, and Lena bought a new computer.
All three users are now great friends.

Wasn’t Diesel pleased when he had his new avatar. He is very proud of it, as all good users are – but he doesn’t mind the spam now, because he knows that the best way to keep his posts nice is not to run into threads, but to ask the Mods to delete the spam at the end of the day.

THE FORUM SERIES NO.2

Luc the Minecrafter

Dear laG,

Here is your friend Luc the Minecrafter. He wanted to come out of his board and see the world. These stories tell you how he did it.
I hope you will like them because you helped me come up with the idea.

Luc and Lena

Luc was a minecrafter who lived at a Big Forum. He had six small keyboards, a short stumpy mouse, a short stumpy signature, and a short stumpy avatar.
He was a fussy little user, always bumping threads about. He bumped them to the top ready for the big members to post in for a while; and when new threads were made, and the posted in them, he would post in them some more, so that the big members could see them when they returned.

He was a cheeky little user, too. He thought no member posted as much as he did. So he used to play tricks on them. He liked best of all to come quietly beside a popular member resting his hands and make him jump.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hi, hey! Get up, lazybones!” he would cry, “why don’t you post hard like me?”
Then he would laugh rudely and go away to find some more threads.

One day Lena was resting on a thread. She was very tired. Her computer she always used had been slower than usual, and she had had to post as fast as she could to make up for lost time.
She was just going to read when Luc came up in his cheeky way.
“Get up, lazybones,” he said, “do some fast posts for a change – you can’t catch me!” and he went off laughing.
Instead of starting to read again, Lena thought how she could pay Luc out.

One morning Luc wouldn’t wake up. His Parents and Alarm couldn’t make him wake up. His head was out and there was not enough energy.
It was nearly time for the board to open. The users were waiting, but the threads weren’t ready.

At last Luc woke up. “Oh, dear! Oh, dear!” he yawned.
“Come on,” said the threads. “Hurry up.” Luc gave them a rude bump.
“Don’t stop dawdling, don’t stop dawdling,” he grumbled.
“Where have you been, where have you been?” asked the threads crossly.

Luc fussed into the boards where Lena was waiting.
“Hello, hello, hello. Hurry up, you,” said Lena crossly.
“Hey, hi, hey. Hurry yourself,” said cheeky Luc.
“Yes,” said Lena, “I will,” and almost before the threads had stopped moving Lena came out of her thread and was came to start posting.
“Hullo, hullo,” she said. “Get ready, please.” So the users got ready, the admin opened the forum, the clock struck the hour, and Lena was ready to start.

Today Luc was late, and Lena started so quickly that he wasn’t able to post yet.
“Come, come,” said Lena.
“Hi, hi, hi,” said Luc.
“Come on! Come on!” said Lena to the threads.
“Post faster! Post faster!” said Luc to Lena.

The threads slowly began to be posted in.
Lena posted faster and faster; too fast for Luc. He wanted to post but he couldn’t. Lena was flooding the board, and all his posts couldn’t be posted.
“Hey! Hey! Stop! Stop!” he cried.
“Hurry, hurry, hurry,” laughed Lena.
“You can’t post in us. You can’t post in us,” laughed the threads.

Poor Luc couldn’t post at all. This had never happened before. He was quite annoyed, but he had to wait.
“I shall never feel the same again,” he thought sadly, “My fingers will be quite stiff.”

At last Lena stopped. Everyone laughed to see Luc unable to post.
They let him post, but all he said was “Darn you, Lena!”, so they put him on to a thread and then he stopped.
“Well, little Luc,” chuckled Lena as she passed, “now you know what fast posting means, don’t you?”
Poor Luc didn’t answer, he had no head. He just logged off, and went back to bed.

He went to school very slowly and was careful never to be cheeky to Lena again.

Luc’s Thread

Luc often grumbled because he was not allowed to make threads of his own.
The other members laughed. “You’re too impatient,” they said. “You’d be sure to post only spam!”
“Rubbish,” said Luc, crossly. “You just wait, I’ll show you.”

One night he and Diesel 11 were alone. Diesel’s computer wasn’t working right. He worked hard, but it didn’t get better.
Now Diesel 11 usually makes the first thread in the morning, and Luc had to get his boards ready.
“If D11’s computer isn’t working,” he thought, “perhaps I shall make his thread.”

Luc ran to find the threads.
“Come along. Come along,” he fussed.
“There’s plenty of time, there’s plenty of time,” grumbled the threads.
He took bumped them up the board, and wanted to start creating a thread right away. But the Mods wouldn’t let him.
“Don’t be impatient, Luc,” they said.

So Luc waited and waited. The users got ready, the Moderators looked up and down, the users banged the keyboards, and still Diesel didn’t come.
Luc got more and more excited.

The Fat Admin came out of his office to see what was the matter, and the Moderators told him about Diesel.
“Find another member,” he ordered.
“There’s only Luc,” they said.
“You’ll have to do it then, Luc. Be quick now!”

So Luc ran round to the top and hit the CREATE THREAD button ready to start.
“Don’t be impatient,” said the Mods. “Wait till everything is ready.”
But Luc was too excited to listen.

What happened then, no one knows. Perhaps they forgot to tell Luc how to make a thread; perhaps Luc was too impatient to wait till they were ready; or perhaps he pushed the POST button by mistake.
Anyhow, Luc posted. Users shouted and sent messages to him but he didn’t look.
“They’re sending me messages because I’m such a splendid user,” he thought importantly. “Diesel says it’s hard to make threads, but I think it’s easy.”
“Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!” he said, pretending to be like Lena.

As he passed the first board, he saw the users coming out posting and shouting.
“They’re pleased to see me,” he thought. “They’ve never seen me making a thread before – it’s nice of them to send messages,” and he called, “Hello, hello, thank you,” and hurried on.

But he came to an Admin message that said “Danger”.
“Bother!” he thought. “I must stop, and I was posting so nicely too. What a nuisance admin messages are!” And he said an angry “Darn you, Toz!” with his keyboard.
One of the Mods came up. “Hullo, Luc!” he said. “What are you doing here?”
“I’ve made a train,” said Luc proudly. “Can’t you see?”
“What is it about then?”
Luc looked back. “Why bless me,” he said, “if I haven’t forgotten the title and message!”
“Yes,” said the Moderator, “you’d better go back quickly and edit it.”
Poor Luc was so sad he nearly cried.
“Cheer up!” said the Mod. “Just go back quickly, and try again.”

At the board all the users were talking at once. They were telling the Fat Admin and the Mods what a bad forum it was.
But when Luc came back and they saw how sad he was, they couldn’t be cross. So he hit the EDIT button, and this time he really posted it.
But for a long time afterwards the other members laughed at Luc, and said:

“Look, there’s Luc, who wanted to make a thread, but forgot about the title and message!”

Luc and the Spam

Luc used to grumble in the Board at night.
“I’m tired of bumping threads, I want to see the world.”
The others didn’t take much notice, for Luc was a little user with a long tongue.

But one night, Frank came to the board. He was a kind little member, and felt sorry for Luc.
“I’ve got some spam to delete tomorrow,” he told him. “If you do it instead, I’ll bump threads in the Board.”
“Thank you,” said Luc, “that will be nice.”
So they asked the Mods next morning, and when they said “Yes,” Luc ran happily to find the spam.

Now spam are silly and noisy. They talk a lot and don’t attend to what they are doing. They don’t listen to their user, and when he stops they bump into each other screaming.
“Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Whatever is happening?”
And, I’m sorry to say, they play tricks on a user who is not used to them.
Frank knew all about spam. He warned Luc to be careful, but Luc was too excited to listen.
The mods got him set up, and, when everything was right, Luc was ready.

The Mods let him go. “Yay! Yay!” said Luc and started off.
But the spam wasn’t ready.
“Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!” they screamed as they were deleted. “Wait, Luc, wait.” But Luc wouldn’t wait.
“Come ⎯ on; come ⎯ on,” he said, and the spam grumbled slowly out of the board on to the graveyard.
Luc was happy. “Come along. Come along,” he said.
“All ⎯ right! ⎯ don’t ⎯ fuss ⎯ all ⎯ right! ⎯ don’t ⎯ fuss,” grumbled the spam. They clattered through tombstones, and rumbled over zombies.
Luc said “Yay! Yay!” and they rushed through the thread in which Diesel had been shut up.

Then they came to the board where Lena had stuck.
“Steady now, steady,” warned the mods.
“We’re stopping, we’re stopping,” called Luc.
“No! No! No! No!” answered the spam, and bumped into each other. “Go ⎯ on! ⎯ go ⎯ on!” and before the Mods could stop them, they had bumped Luc away, and were growing and destroying behind him.
Poor Luc tried hard to stop them from devouring the board.
“Stop pushing, stop pushing,” he hissed, but the spam would not stop.
“Go ⎯ on! ⎯ go ⎯ on!” they giggled in their silly way.

He was glad when they got to the end. Then he saw in front the place where they had to stop.
“Oh dear! What shall I do?”
They rattled through the board, and luckily the path was clear as they swerved into the Archives board.
“Oo ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ooh e ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ r,” groaned Luc, as he held fast and skidded along the board.
“They must stop,” and he shut his eyes tight.

When he opened them he saw he had stopped just in front of the Graveyard, and the spam was writhing and moaning in their death. There watching him was –⎯⎯
The Fat Admin!
“What are you doing here, Luc?” he asked sternly.
“I’ve brought Frank’s spam,” Luc answered.
“Why did you come so fast?”
“I didn’t mean to, I was pushed,” said Luc sadly.
“Haven’t you deleted spam before?”
“No.”

“Then you’ve a lot to learn about spam, little Luc. They are silly things and must be kept in their place. After deleting them about here for a few weeks you’ll know almost as much about them as Frank. Then you’ll be a Really Useful Member.”

Luc and the Breakdown Thread

Every day the Fat Admin came to the board to catch his thread, and he always said “Hullo” to Luc.
There were lots of threads in the board – different ones were made every day – and Luc had to bump and move them into their right places.
He worked hard – he knew now that he wasn’t so clever as he had thought. Besides, the Fat Admin had been kind to him and he wanted to learn all about posts so as to be a Really Useful Member.
But on a siding by themselves was a thread that Luc was told he “mustn’t touch”.
“That’s the breakdown thread,” said a Mod. “When there’s a problem, the staff and members use it to sort out to the problem. It’s one of the most important threads on the board.”

One day, Luc was in the Board, when he heard an member crying “Help! Help!” and a member came rushing through much to fast.
The user (a new one called Blaze) was frightened. Her computer was acting up, and spam was about to destroy her and the board.
“They’re pushing me! They’re pushing me!” she panted.
“On! On! On! On!” laughed the spam; and still crying “Help! Help!” poor Blaze disappeared in a board.
“I’d like to teach those spam a lesson,” said Luc the Minecrafter.

Presently, a message popped up, and a Mod came up, “Blaze is off the thread – the breakdown thread – quickly,” he shouted.
So Luc bumped up the thread, the members and staff came and started talking, and off they went.
Luc helped his hardest. “Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!” he said, and this time he wasn’t pretending to be like Lena, he really meant it.
“Bother those spam and their tricks,” he thought, “I hope poor Blaze isn’t hurt.”

They found Blaze and the spam on the fourth page of ‘What Do Your Foods Really Think’, post 5. The last few spam were fine, but the front ones were deleted for good; Blaze was dazed and confused with an apple looking at her. The Mods came out and looked her over.
“Never mind, Blaze,” they said. “It wasn’t your fault, it was that computer your parents gave you. We always said they were no good.”

Luc put the breakdown thread alongside. Then he deleted the undeleted spam.
“Oh ⎯⎯ dear! ⎯ oh ⎯ dear!” they groaned.
“Serves you right. Serves you right,” said Luc crossly.
He was hard at work going backwards and forwards all the afternoon.
“This’ll teach you a lesson, this’ll teach you a lesson,” he told the spam, and they answered “Yes ⎯ it ⎯ will ⎯ yes ⎯ it ⎯ will,” in a sad, groany, creaky, sort of voice.

They left the deleted spam and mended the thread. Then they put Blaze back on her feet. She tried to move but she couldn’t, so Luc helped her back to the Board.
The Fat Admin was waiting anxiously for them.
“Well, Luc,” he said kindly, “I’ve heard all about it, and I’m very pleased with you. You’re a Really Useful Member.
“Blaze shall have a proper computer and a new avatar, and you ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ shall have a Board all to yourself.”
“Oh, Sir!” said Luc, happily.

Now Luc is as happy as can be. He has a board all to himself, and goes proudly backwards and forwards with two threads all day.
He is never lonely, because there is always some user to talk to.

Frank and Diesel 11 stop quite often, and tell him the news. Lena is always in a hurry and does not stop; but she never forgets to say “Hello, hello” to little Luc, and Luc always says “Hello, hello” in return.

Let's see... I think laG would be good for replacing Toby, Zach for Terrence, maybe Tug for Bertie... I think Winston Churchill would be good for Duck, Arthur and Wellsworth for Donald and Douglas, and then me for Percy? The question is who would be Diesel, nobody would really be up for that, maybe for now we can take D&D out of our minds and have Wellsworth be Harold, and then with this arrangement we can have someone to be Diesel, but who?

Thanks Toz! I hope to be able to put out my rewrite of James The Red Engine next week, but I'm not 100% sure.

Wait, before the next one, I'd like to point out a minor flub:

In the last chapter of "Luc the Minecrafter", it says this:

“Well, Luc,” he said kindly, “I’ve heard all about it, and I’m very pleased with you. You’re a Really Useful Member.

> “James < shall have a proper computer and a new avatar, and you shall have a Board all to yourself.”

“Oh, Sir!” said Luc, happily.

BTW, Blaze as James is a nice idea, considering she had Avatars of him on the Thomas Wikia forums.

Yes, and considering that her name here is now 'Blaze the Red Engine', it makes sense. Razz

Thanks for pointing that out, laG, I'll edit it now.
