Once upon a time, one of the strongest narrow-gauge engines was named Proteus. He worked on the Mid-Sodor Railway, with Duke. However, Stanley was jealous of him. One night, the two were working in the quarries, when Stanley violently pushed Proteus down the line - a runaway. He went down the line, whistle screeching, wheels screaming. He rumbled across the Old Iron Bridge, when he derailed, and fell off, into the river below. The end.

Duke - Proteus was initially named Albert. However, it was changed later in life.
